A Dairyland Adventure

On Thursday afternoon, My mom, Aunt M, La and I drove up to Neillsville, Wisconsin to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side of the family. My boss graciously allowed me leave work early to narrowly escape a "record setting storm." (that didn't hit until almost 12 hours later)

After a 5-and-a-half hour drive that felt like 12 (thanks to a certain backseat driver), we were warmly greeted by Grandma Fern, Grandpa Cal, Uncle Aaron and Grandpa Dave.

Yes, Grandma Fern really does have a pink streak in her hair. She promised us she would at Christmastime, and we all forgot until we got there. I think it's just the right touch, don't you?
We conducted our immediate family's Christmas exchange, and it went exceedingly well ...

... Until I gave photography privileges to Uncle Aaron.

Then, yesterday, we set out on our yearly journey to Nasonville. To visit the dairy.

... To buy some cheese curds.

Here's a blurry shot of where the cheese curds come from. Straight out of a giant trough.

Yum!

Even La can't get enough of them.
