Girls' Weekend

A few months ago someone in my family (Aunt Kathleen?) got the idea to have a Girls' Weekend in Milwaukee. It was understood that the sole purpose of this get-together was to eat, drink, and eat some more. This past weekend was the one that worked for everyone, so my mom rode in on the double-decker Megabus on Thursday afternoon.

We began the weekend Friday night, when we all met for dinner in downtown Milwaukee.

La got to see her two cousins, Lydia and Vada. Don't these three look like trouble?

Just wait till they're teenagers. Have mercy.

The next day, we met at another restaurant for lunch. It's what we do best.

La got to wear lipstick.

After some shopping, we all headed back to Aunt Kathleen and Uncle Joe's humble abode for a sleepover.

We made red wine braised short ribs, potato puree and caramelized brussel sprouts for dinner. It was heavenly. I can't really remember what we did after dinner ... I blame that on the food coma.

In short, it was a very fun, very relaxing weekend.

Thank you Kathleen and Joe for so graciously hosting all of us crazies!
