I have my baby back now. She's been back since Sunday, and she's sweeter than ever. Our little family feels complete again. I'm not sure how we're going to handle La being gone for six weeks this summer. Thinking about it now makes me want to crawl into a hole and cry. So, I just don't think about it! Yay! It's called denial. Makes everything better.
I'm fully aware that I may need heavy counseling come summertime.
Despite missing La, Dr P and I had a pretty good time while La was gone. We got some things done, I think. I can't really remember, actually. I know we had a list of stuff to accomplish while she was away. And I also know that I can't find that list, so I have no idea if we actually accomplished anything.
But we did climb a giant hill!
We took a 4-mile trail at Oak Mountain State Park that took us straight up the side of the mountain, and man did it kick our butts!
But the view from the top was worth the sweat and dizziness on the way up. (not sure if the dizziness was a result of the altitude or the fact that I'm completely out of shape or the vast quantity of adult beverages we had consumed the night before. All of the above perhaps?)

That night we rewarded our valiant mountain-climbing efforts with some bawled (boiled) crawfish.
Hello, little crawdaddy! GIT IN MAH BELLY.

I don't believe I've ever partaken in a crawfish boil before. They're not a big thing up north, ya know.

But I'm well on my way to becoming a southern gal. And those little buggers are mighty tasty!
Maybe we'll take La for some bawled crawfish sometime soon. Knowing her "adventurous" (HA!) palate, I'm sure she'd be overjoyed to suck the fat out of one of those little buggers.

Kari, I need to know if you sucked the innerds once you separated the head from the tail...not really a southern girl until you enjoy all the delicacies.
I tried it with one of those little buggers, and that was enough! Gross.
